The MBCA Foundation held its 10th Annual Scholarship Award Luncheon on Thursday, May 5th at Trump Plaza Casino & Resort. Keynote Speaker and MBCA Education Appreciation Recipient Mr. Carlos Lejnieks - Chairman, New Jersey Charter Schools Association. He said Charter Schools are the research and arm of public education and deserve a chance to succeed.

Student Scholarships were awarded as follows:

Epicurean Society Scholarships

• Kathryn Blizzard from Ocean City, attending Ocean City High School
• Kimberly Richardson of Mays Landing, attending Farleigh Dickinson University

Hollingsworth Scholarships

• Ka’lah Jonson from Atlantic City
• Elijah Langford from Atlantic City

Atlantic City Weekly Scholarship

• Zoe Ganoudis from Margate

MBCA Scholarship

• Amananda Catanoso from Seaville attending The Catholic University

MBCA also recognizes an area educator for their outstanding contributions to education.

The Epicurean Society Scholarship Teacher/Grant Award was presented to Bernadette Getzler from the Seaview School in Linwood.

A record number attended the luncheon sponsored by Atlantic Cape Community College.
