DANTE HALL INTRODUCES THE “BAD GIRLS
OF SUMMER” SERIES WITH BIZET’S
CARMEN
(and by BAD, we
mean GREAT!)
Part of the
Bad Girls of Summer Series,
Bizet's
CARMEN is the classic story of the femme-fatale. The
fully staged performance, in French, is presented by the Amici Opera
Company, under the direction of Rafaelle Tudisco. The Amici Opera
Company brings to life Georges Bizet's 1874 French opera with a
libretto by Henry Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, based on the 1845
novel, written by author Prosper Mérimée.
CARMEN,
an irresistable woman who is surrounded by magic, mystery,
seduction, manipulation and, ultimately, tragedy.
Rafaelle Tudisco, founder of The Amici Opera Company, directs this
most beloved opera.
Award winning, and critically acclaimed, Rafaelle has made history
this year with his performance in Verdi's
Falstaff,
marking his 100th operatic role and his successfully
perfoming every one of Guiseppe Verdi's 26 operas. Few if any
singers in the history of operatic music have ever accomplished this
milestone. And it is this passion and drive that Rafaelle has poured
into the hardest working(11 months out of the year with almost 20
operas performed) and extremely powerful opera company.
