The
MBCA Summer Luncheon will be held at noon
on Thursday, June 12, 2008. The event
will take place at Bally’s Park Place on
the Boardwalk in the Ocean Ballroom
located on the sixth floor. The Summer
Luncheon traditionally highlights
development projects in the area. Past
projects have been showcased at the
luncheon include the expansion of The
Walk, Borgata, and Pinnacle
Entertainment's development plans. This
year we are pleased to have developer,
Curtis Bashaw as our Keynote Speaker. He
will be sharing his development plans for
the city, specifically the Chelsea, a
boutique hotel which will be opening in
early summer 2008. The Chelsea, which is
located at Chelsea Avenue and the
Boardwalk was formerly the Holiday Inn and
Howard Johnson Hotels. The property is
being completely renovated and transformed
by Bashaw into a posh hip, 331 room hotel
with two signature Stephen Starr
restaurants. We applaud his vision and
investment in Atlantic City renaissance.
In addition to the Chelsea project, Bashaw
is working with Wallace Barr in developing
a casino project on Albany Avenue and the
Boardwalk, which is sure to change the
Atlantic City skyline. The MBCA is proud
to present Mr. Bashaw to you to talk about
the current and future renaissance that is
redefining Atlantic City.
